Okay, here we are at #5. At the end of #4, Sue had just posted what looked like a pretty dahlia, and I had neglected to say how much I love Sherry's photos of the fog in her garden. We had overcast weather for the first time in months today. Very productive. I stayed in the garden for hours and hours without getting the slightest bit hot or tired.

We're to have another foggy morning tomorrow also, I believe. Love, love, love fog.... except for driving in the tule fog in the San Joaquin with semis roaring down on me....

Yes, Zuzu's right, it's a dahlia, one of those with the dark bronze/black foliage.

I took hubby to the SF airport this morning at 6 AM, he's spending 10 days with his parents in Canada. I had some trouble driving home though as I could barely stay awake. I woke up at 3 AM and just couldn't go back to sleep so when I got home I went back to bed for a couple more hours. Still felt like a zombie all day so didn't get much done, only did a little watering and also took some pictures.
Here are some from my Mom's garden this morning. The thumbnails really crop out a lot, you see more if you click on them, salvia has a little visitor.

Her beloved kitty Molly is talking to me, she follows anyone out in the garden, (except my dogs!).

More of the overall main bed, which is right out by our bedroom window which you can see in the second shot. She has mostly blue/purples with orange this year, some years she has more yellows. I love the color combo, really suitable for fall I think.

Beautiful. How nice that you have gardening to share. I didn't have that with my Mom...we had 'get in the car and go' to share...lol...
Also great that your husband can take this time to go see his folks. I think I could gladly move to Canada.

Beautiful, Sue. And I see what you mean about the thumbnails cropping things out. There are lots of color echoes beyond the thumbnail margins.

Darling Molly's a big Magnolia cat, isn't she? Calico tabby?

Looks like she may be a tabby calico mix, who knows. She was a pregnant feral that showed up in my Mom's garden a couple of years ago and after her 4 kittens found homes and my Mom got her fixed, she loved how sweet she was and decided to keep her. She's still a skittish kitty, sudden movements send her for cover.

The wild turkeys of Julian send their greetings...

They apparently received no help from the angels when making this sign...

I love this idea...goldfinch condo. We need to make one of these, although Jer says the birds may have to learn to feed themselves since they cost us about $30 a month just for the finches...

That sign is hysterically funny!

We had wild turkeys in my neighborhood one year -- one tom and his huge harem. They were lots of fun.

Sherry, how are the bees at your place?

Love the photos, everyone. That is a very funny sign.

I've come to the conclusion that what got me were yellow jackets. My neighbor has been stung also and hers have no stinger. I didn't think mine did either. I still water close to where they are, but they're not upset if I don't water right on them....I'd call that a mutual understanding......
The funny thing about the road sign is that each time we pass there (Mesa Grande Rez), I've thought that I'd like to live on Angel Mountain Road. This time I had my camera with me, but didn't notice until I downloaded the pic that it was spelled incorrectly...lol...

Heading out today to do a garden crawl. Monterey Bay Master Gardeners is doing their annual hoo-hah. Sharing this one with my friend Rene and my son's GF, who is just getting into gardening. I always enjoy this tour because it's gardens done by gardeners instead of by expensive designers. I'll post photos of the good stuff for y'all!

I hope it won't be as hot for you as it's going to be down here.....at least we don't have Santa Anas and as much worry over wildfures. I'm watering everything and thinking about which areas I can take out so as not to keep giving the water companies my money.......

I wanted to go but hubby is out of town and that would be too long of a day to leave the puppers locked into the bedroom. Should be nice weather along the coast, in the 70's. Here it will get high 80's
