I have this theory that chocolate slows down the aging process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?

We really need a "like" button for posts - it's the one thing Facebook got right.

I know what you mean, Marie, I hate the idea that there are no more chances to see her. Jerry posted a lovely message on FB this morning - he is receiving messages from all over the country. She sure had a way to touch people and make them feel special.

I do too. We were all young once.

When I first typed this I ran the words all together, missing spaces and this is what it said:
We wereallyoungonce. When I glanced at it, I thought I'd written "We were really young" once....
How true.

We forget what we looked like when we were young. When I was working I met a lot of people, lots of older people and I realized when I'd read obits, just how special these people were. We didn't know many things about them when they were young..the special woman who flew transport B52's during the war, who at 82 was still going river rafting, was still looking for the right man....I realized that we didn't view them in the same light as younger people. We somehow only identified with them when they were young...when we saw a picture of them as young people. I started thinking that everyone should have a T-shirt with a pic of them when they were young on it, saying "This is me".

Such a lovely photo of Donna. She was lovely at any age.

I'm glad there are lots of pictures of her out there. I have a bad habit of not taking photos of people...I think because I'm afraid it will be intrusive. I think I'll just start snapping away - those candid shots are usually more flattering, anyway, as long as you throw out the ones with vacant stares and yawns!

Yes, and I forgot to say I like the t-shirt idea. I love looking at photos of my mom as a young girl/woman and used to ask her about what she did for fun, etc.

Donna Jean Brickman (Campilii) passed away on July 12th after fighting cancer for over a year. She is survived by her husband Jerry, her father Bill, her daughter Dina, her Grandson Dylan and her sisters Sue and Marie. She grew up in El Segundo and graduated from El Segundo High in 1965. Donna and Jerry were married in 1967. They lived throughout the country during Jerry’s Air Force career and they settled in Huntington Beach. Family and friends were the most important things in her life and she loved being a Grandma. She became a Master Gardener in the last few years and she was happiest working in her garden.

She was a loving person who befriended everyone she met. Donna’s memorial will be held at 12pm on July 23rd at Heritage Memorial Services’ large chapel in Huntington Beach (17712 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach 92647, Phone 714 842-2400). Please join us in celebrating her life.

You're welcome, I'll see you there unless baby comes that day, that's the only thing that would stop me from being there. Donna would understand.

Been singing the song I used to sing to Donna all week...."Oh Donna." :-(

Oh, Donna Oh, Donna
Oh, Donna Oh, Donna
I had a girl
N Donna was her name
Since she left me
I've never been the same
Cause I love my girl
Donna, oh where can you be?
Where can you be?
Now that you're gone
I'm left all alone
All by myself
To wander and roam
Cause I love my girl
Donna, oh where can you be? - Where can you be?
Well darlin, now that your're gone
I don't know, what I'll do
All the time, and all my love for you-o-o
I had a girl
N Donna was her name
Since she left me
I've never been the same
Cause I love my girl
Donna,oh where can you be?
Where can you be?
Oh, Donna Oh, Donna
Oh, Donna Oh, Donna
Oh, Donna Oh, Donna
