Samigal will your vet give you a ball park estimate without complications? Ask him/her when you go for that 3rd shot...and explain you need to know how much you would need to pay the bill...or will he work out payments for you if you come up short....after all...not all of us have a huge bank account...and I don't know about you...but my first born is now past her "sellable" age....so can't use her for collateral... You'd think, he could tell you. It would depend on how serious the hernia is.
I will take T Bo for his 3rd set of shots the first week of Nov. He is growing so much. so sweet.
Want to tell you a Charley Story.
Charley likes to lean over the fence and eat the grass in the dog pen. He can tear that fence down by his leaning. I ran him off. sometimes I have to threaten him with a switch. Later on in the afternoon, I let the donkeys into another dogpen to eat the grass. NO Charley!!! I called and nothing, no Charley!
I walked into pasture to see where he was. He was standing down there by a fence. I told him to "come on" He looked at me and turned his head. He was pouting at me. I told him "o.k." Turned my back and walked off. He ran ahead of me and went closer to where I wanted him to be. finally he realized the gate was open and he could eat the grass in that pen. I left them in there about an hour, then drove them back out. Charley was no longer mad at me. He came up to gate to be loved.
He is so silly and spoilt....

I will ask the vet about a ball park figure for the hernia operation. I know he is a little cheaper that the one I took Sami to. In fact the VCA animal hospital charges a fortune. Tried using my medical card there and NO GO. I know I used to use my credit care with Sami and then when the bill came wondered how it was going to be paid. We can hardly keep ourselves going financially and then I took on another dog. Mandy goes in next week for her 3rd set of shots. During the year there is a clinic at city hall for all shots for dogs & cats at a decent price.

Charleen, love the Charley story. When I give Sami the much hated bath she stays away from me for a while. You would think I was punishing her, cries all the while she is being bathed. That job I really hate!

Linda, I need to get some more pictures. that puppy is weighing in last night at 37 lbs. He is a growing big boy. You ought to hear hubby when I tell him "TBo's just a baby!" so funny. He is not a tiny baby but he is my baby. We do love our furkids..

Dylan is an adorable pirate!

Took Mandy in for her shots today, she weighs 4 lbs. 12 oz.., gained almost 2 pounds since I've had her. Had to buy a cat collar to put on her and that is still a little big. Didn't get to see the vet again, but the boy quoted me $163 fo spay a 10 lb. dog. Seems price goes up with dogs weight. He couldn't tell me about the hernia, but did say he would do both at the same time. She does need a rabies shot in two weeks. Maybe by that time I will get the money the state in holding for us will come in. It seems that I had to send it information on my DH too as he is entitled to half of money. Don't they realize I'm putting it all in one place and I'm the one who only writes checks. Rolling on the floor laughing

It is the state of California that is holding the money, and it is time they let go of it. It was money my son earned on a job and never collected. I had to sent in his death certificate plus all other information on the both of us, didn't send in enough so had to dig up more and send it again. Well, I faxed the last set of papers and hope they have enough this time. If the state is holding any money for anyone they post it on their web site and that is where I found out all the information to start the correspondence. California is trying to save their own butts too!!

I hope everyone stayed safe from "Sandy". If anyone needed that ark that was going around it was New York and New Jersey. Sad
