Sorry to hear you got stung Doris! Sounds like it was multiple times? Those things hurt so bad, then the itching after!

A sweet pea web site I'm going to visit. I never realized there were so many colors eiher, but knew there was more than purple and pink. I always would pick the flowers so didn't know about seeds until the last few years. Don't pick the flowers and they form a seed pot that has a number of seeds in it. Can't begin to gather all of them so I find little ones popping up all over. Just invasive as morning glories.

Thank you Mindy and taters, yes I have been taking tylenol, happy to say the swelling has started to go down but never realized a sting could itch so bad, no wonder children cry so hard when they get stung, it kept me up two nights in a row, now when I see one bee around the patio I can bet there are more hiding somewhere.

Glad the swelling is going down Doris. If a honey bee lands on you stay as still as possible and don't make any moves it would consider threatening and usually after a few minutes it will leave probably in disgust that you didn't provide some food.

Hi Yall just hopping around and came on this site trying to find Charlenes clay goody site.I lost it lol. Doris next time, and hope you don't get stung again.....put an asprin in a teaspoon with a few drops of water. Make a paste and put it on the sting. It will keep it from swelling or itching. It really works.

Sweet Peas are so pretty Pegi! Hi ya Mindy hope you are still doing good. Hey Taters, are you taking a break from all that sewing? You deserve one. All you ladies have done some awsome work.

Happy to say the swelling has finnaly gone, still itches some but not bad, the bees were making a honey comb under my rain gage, it is now gone, for being such a small bee they certaily give a mighty punch, now I understand why children cry so hard and rub a place where they were stung,

Bless you Doris. So glad you didn't get terrible allergies to the sting. Glad it is better.

got this note from Jamie and want you all to see it too...

I'm okay as is Inky (in fact he's better than I). The meds make me really tired and I am still (probably always will be) on treatment. There's a great deal to take care of here daily and I have slowed down a lot from this.

Too, I am just not on line much since I gave my keyboard an orange juice bath (NOT RECOMMENDED!) and can hardly type on it.

I adore the quilt from you folks, it makes me happy everyday. You can copy this to all for me if you wish. I do not want to lose track but when I DO come on I am so far behind on the reading that I can't seem to catch up.

Back from vacation.
Hi everyone I am back from my trip, we had a lot of excitement as we had a huge black bear not 8' away from us while we were sitting out on the lawn, the dog started barking, we turned around, and there it was, we managed to get the dog in the house, and the bear walked down the lawn while we called the police, and NO ONE had a camera handy.my son took this with his camera, not too good but you can see he was there Big Grin

Yes Charlene it was, this is the picture from the Farmington paper.

Last year it was Mountain Lions, this year it's bears.

It seems like each week there is another new report of a bear sighting in central Connecticut. A bear was struck and killed in Windsor on Interstate 91 last week. A young bear hunkered down for a green snack in a backyard in Meriden recently and another one lounged in a backyard in Southington before scooting off into the woods. Even more bear sightings have been reported

According to the state Department of Environmental Protection here is the breakdown of reports of bear activity in this area from June 26, 2011 to June 24, 2012:

Avon, 115
Canton, 97
East Granby, 35
Farmington, 146
Granby, 43
Simsbury, 95
West Hartford, 19
