Jamie getting estimates is a nightmare, I have three and they are all so different it makes you wonder how they came up with these amounts, the Insurance adjuster was here also but they never tell you how much they will allow and he said I would hear in about two weeks, meanwhile the waiting lists get longer, and estimates get higher.
Doris a few years back, we applyed for a grant from the council for work on the house, they said to get qoutes three for each work that had to bee done, then they picked who they wanted to work on our house, in all we had 12 qoutes, each one a different total, cheers madness, what some of them wanted to charge.

Have each of them detail their estimates further on product and construction materials and design, and insulation etc. I learned a lot when I was having the 2nd garage built. their 'details' will help you ask questions of the others. It won't get done quicker but, as long as you have to wait on the insurance company, it may get done better OR you may get a better settlement result from them if you ask them the same questions too.

Yes Jamie, all details of work that was to be done on each work. The first few days, i was making tea/coffee morning and afternoon, then sandwiches for their lunch, untill their boss came and had a word with me, my crfew bring their own food, but drinks, thank you.

yep, gutter replacement, soffit design (inside of the structure how repaired areas are attached), etc. and as Petal notes, refuse disposal & property clean-up. You pay insurance forever without a need, then when you do, there is no justice in allowing 'corner cutting'.
