Boy, I could sure use something like that for gardening though. Why Mark (Knopfler) began using head and wrist bands back in the days of hot heavy stage lighting...and he inadvertantly started a 'fashion' trend.

Just dropping in for a minute, things are bad here in Greensburg, Tornadoe touched down and huge hail stones, my roof is practicaly gone , there are shingles everywhere and ICE from the hail, and I have big holes in the siding on the back of my house, trees are down everywhere, one resturant totaly colapst, I have no news of people inside, this was at 5:30 a busy time, two semis were turned over on their sides, we are expecting another one in about an hour, this the worst I have seen.
I hope I am able to get on tomorrow, but power keeps going off and on, due to so many lines down.
I am still here at my home,my son is coming over, no matter where we go it is bad, they are saying this next one can be more severe, the hail was the size of golfballs, there are electric lines down also so it is not safe to try to drive anywhere, my electric came back on but my son is still without, we are watching the news pretty close.

OH Doris, I so wish you had a safer place like a shelter underground.
God be with them and wrap your arms around them and this house. Cover their house with your protective angels so no more damage can happen. Raise the storms high above ground so it can pass quickly without anymore damage. Sheild and protect them in Jesus name. Amen.

Good to hear, I was concerned about Sharon, has anyone one heard from Susan dorris?......take care Doris, glad your son is coming over. I did hear from the others in the zone 5 gardening group and they okay but apparently they were not that far out of the path.

No word from Susan yet, here but I figure you will hear before me. Is anyone else we have not heard from? One headed for Jon but he thinks it will fizzle out before it arrives.

I just got an c-mail from her (Susan). She is okay, said she had pillows and water for the dawgs but had been sitting on the concrete herself so I guess she was in the basement. Sounds like she's going to get more comfortable and stay protected, but has no damage so far.

Checking in this morning. Must have had another bad storm overnight. A tree limb is in my front yard just a few feet from the front porch. Haven't checked the bee yard and flower garden yet.
Good morning, n ot sure what is good about it other than i guess I am still here, that weather was amazing last night, Greensburg suffered some sever damage , and injuries but so far no reported deaths. this is off my roof and after two hours that is the almost melted ice from the hail, it was the size of golf balls and totaly ruined the back of my house where the siding is covered with holes where the ice went right through,
this is just a small part
plants were ripped apart, still ice everywhere.
[ large plant missing, and plants gone from their pots

Doris, I am so sorry for the mess you are having to endure. But as said above, things can and will be replaced. We are all glad YOU are safe and not hurt. It is disheartening to see all yhr plants you love gone or damaged but those with damage will put back out and the others we'll all help you replace if you want them. That is what friends are for. I remember how I felt when the power went off to my greenhouse and I lost all my tropical plants I really loved but it cannot be helped and I decided at that point I would not replace them. Too much worry and next year the same can happen again. We cannot change mother nature. She is what she is, but we can prepare and keep ourself safe as we can.
Be concerned with what we can control and don't sweat the rest. That will work itself out. Try not worry about THINGS, Take one day at a time and step by step, then one day you will look back and it will all be like a bad dream, come and gone.
Those storms should be here by 5-6:00pm today and sure hope we make it through.
God Bless you and just remember God brought you this far, He will see you through. He doesn't stop in the middle.
I know that "THINGS" can be replaced, right now my son is on the roof covering it with Tarps as the insurance inspector said they may not get here today but when they come the will put tarps on untill it can get fixed, my damage is nothing compared to a lot of NEW houses that were demolished, guess there is something to say for an old well built house.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the prayers and well wishes, we are all truly like family. God bless you all.
