I love them too! You have probably had them around for awhile. Glad you put your feeders out. I love to watch them fly around, and protect the feeders.

My DH was in the bathroom and heard that music and came running in here thinking he caught me at something and watched the video with me, he laughed his head off at those women. He says yall are all nuts! Specially Doris!
forgot to tell ya, we are having a heat wave it is 99 right now, hotter than blazes, when I am in Vegas it will be 95 BUT no humidity,
over the weekend when I am gone they are predicting severe thunderstorms, my son will stay at my house to watch things for me since nothing has been fixed yet since the Tornado, was wierd today, every house on my street had appraisers on the roof with their pad and pencil, no telling where we will be on the list.one thing for sure, a lot of folks will be WORKING
I will Jamie, the Amish also gave an estimate, they would like to put a metal roof on, they say they last forever. Will give it some thought, anyone know about them.

HI Everyone. Doris we have a metal roof on our house. Been on since 1992 no problems other than one of the guys putting the gutters up later almost fell off his ladder and used his hammer in the roof too keep from faling. Never did tell us he did it either. Fortunately, the hole was in a spot that didn't cause the ceiling to leak. Only thing you might want to consider is that when it rains you'll hear it. DH doesn't mind it puts him to sleep since he grew up sleeping under a metal roof. LIterally, his bed was right under the roof and you had to get up on one side or hit your head.

Most around here are barn red, beautiful Blue and a gorgeous grass green and they are guaranteed for lifetime. I want one. And honestly with the heat getting so hot lately, I think the shingles play a part in house fires.

I'm wondering about insulating value up in the cold here though. Doris had a pretty harsh winter too. It seems there are lots of metal roofs in the south but hardly any up here...must be some reason. Tthat's something to consider with color selection too. Dark might be too hot in the summer and light might be too cold in the winter. I'd do some research on that.

The roofs are the same as a wood and shingled roof. The metal goes on top of the plywood on the roof.
I agree Doris, ask many questions about the pro's and con's of metal versus shingles.
