Name: Charleen Barnesville, Ga. Zone 7b-8 Walk in Peace / I'm Charley's Mom.
Just a Beautiful spoilt mule. He is ridible but after I fell off that last time. I was afraid to get back on. It was not his fault, my foot came out of the stirrip, he jumped down the sandbar and I went flying over his head. He just stood there and looked at me. He didn't move. Such a precious baby is my Charley. He was there for me and now I am there for him.
We are having our drinks now then off to bed.
Pleased to hear Robert is having time off for all the hours of work he has been putting in.
A big cuddle for Charley, and all the other animals.
Have a good evening both of you,
When the time comes for bed hope both of you have sweet dreams.
Love and hugs
Muriel and Tilly..
Took my 16 yr old nephew to The Mall this afternoon--- to the eye-place to get his eyes checked for new Contacs for the year--- last year at the Other eye-place it was about $300 I think; this place charged $450 for the exam and the contacs; I about fell over in a dead faint!! His insurance pays nothing to help out.
The Mall was packed like sardines in a can--- I thought, for Halloween??! ... had a hard time finding a place to park. After the eye-place, Parker sees a Hat display in a store, and when we got in Penny's, I said he could go back to it, & I would look 'right here' at this jewelry; gave him his allowance, & we decided on 10 minutes... well, after 25 mins. he hadn't returned to 'the spot' where I was waiting & waiting... so being perturbed at him for not watching the time, I walk back to that store--- & it was packed with teens!! Squeezing my way thru, I couldn't find him, so I walked back to Penny's to 'the spot'... and he walks up right behind me--- said he had been 'waiting & looking for me for a looong time!' --- Aaaaugh!!! ... and That is why I hate going with Teens to The Mall! (and he didn't even buy a Hat--- got a Sonic billfold with a Chain attached!) Oh, brother.... I was glad to just get thru people & traffic, and get back Home! I'm pooped!!
Kids are about as dependable as my plants--- I finally got a photo of my Night-Blooming Cereus. I checked the bud for about 5 nights, outside with a flashlight; it finally bloomed... I enjoyed it, took some pictures, because when the sun came up, the bloom started closing up! Very Sneaky... Here it is!

Connie, I got caught up in that as well last week. Our insurance pays for an eye exam from the mall eye doctor. I asked him about contacts thinking all the companies offered a free trial. He said why don't we try one and the next thing I know I had a bill for $143, and contract terms for $90 for a three month supply as I only need one contact. This is what you need to know and what I plan to do next week. I am asking the doctor for a written prescription and going to Costco. You will find Costco and Sams are pretty closely priced if either are in your area you can save big bucks. You do not need a membership to use the optometry area in Sams. Costco happens to be by me and the same contacts are $35. I do the same for glasses. Sooooo much cheaper there.
PS. turns out I don't think I want contacts, bummer!
Doris, Cat Jokes are sooo funny--- to Dogs, anyway!! Cute pic!
Susan, we don't have a Costco here, & our Sams is so far away (& in a part of town I don't like much), so I don't go there... but a neighbor told me a few days ago that they are making the Old Walmart building into a Sam's--- so I will prob. get a membership to it, and check out their eyeplace there--- Thanks for the info! I wish I hadn't bought Parker a whole years' supply of contacts now, as I could've just got 6 months' worth... but I didn't know anything about Sam's having Contacs---
Susan, whereabouts do you live in Zone 5? Sounds like a cold winter area--- considering I'm in Zone 9!... Only thing I'm still digging up is Weeds!
Linda, like that JackoLantern--- we didn't even get a pumpkin this year to carve--- they were expensive $$! If our kids were younger, I would've anyway, but the youngest here now is our nephew who's 16; only thing he was concerned about was Candy! We let him join several friends, then John & I went to the Dollar-Movies during peak hours, instead of Answering the door-knocks or attending our church's Trunk or Treat--- We did that last year also... We don't have that many Trick or Treaters anymore, because most go to the Mall for it, or else go to school or church events--- safety's sake.
Hope all of you have a terrific Tuesday!
Nuzzles to Charley & the Dear Donkeys~
Connie, yes we do have Trick or Treaters here, but this year we put up notices to say, "No Trick or Treaters", as it got silly the amount of children with adults knocking at both doors, and was getting expensive on treats.
Yes we are fine, after Peter with his flu, and me with my broken toe, which only aches now.
Take care all of you.
