Image If the shoe fits, fill it with flowers...
By Sharon Brown on April 15, 2010

It was May, 2008 when we lost a dear Dave's Garden friend who lived in Alaska. Several of us had known Carol Eads very well through her posts on DG, and our hearts were hurting when she passed. But the story does not end there. I traveled to Alaska to build a Memory Garden for Carol, and in doing so, I discovered a whole new world filled with wonderful people and unusual things....here's my story.

So ... what'dya think?
I was there when the memorial garden was opened ... I don't know of Sharran remembers, but I met her there. I took a few pictures myself. Here are some samples.
I was also there for the first annual celebration a year later ... and then again this year ...

JON!!!!
We sat at the bar in the kitchen and talked of many things. Of course I remember you. How very good to see you again.

Your pictures are lovely. You carried your camera even then. I especially love your photo of Mac, such a sweetheart he is.

Thanks for joining us here.
This is exciting.

Yep. That would be me. I've spent a little time in Kentucky ... a LOOONG time ago. Around Harlan and Middlesboro ... nice people there. I learned that if you're walking in the woods and smell something sour, best to turn around and go back the way you came!

Well....
Sour mash. White lightnin'.
That kind of thing.

It usually meant you were getting too close to somebody's place of business, hidden as it was back in the mountains. You can still find a still, or the remnants of one, occasionally. And you had to be careful or they'd mistake you for Feds, I guess.

I think that's what Chris means.

ok.....Around here a raunchy smell means you're way to close to a bear.... Hilarious!
