OK, I see people are visiting this site. And there's nothing to see! Booo! So I'll post occasionally here. And I'll start accumulating care tips and comments in the DR care forum.

This is a plant I bought here on St Croix a whole year ago, and it's finally bloomed. I think I kept the plant too dry.

Here's a close up of the caudex, I've since covered the tips of the tiny string-like roots, and hope they grow on down. I like them. If they're not growing in the soil, they'll dry up and die.

Good morning,

I'm a newbie and have 1 desert rose that i guess i kind of saved it.It was on it's way to the trash, they didn't know that the plant was just dormant. This isn't really a pretty plant. It has beautiful blooms and i just love it but i could use some advice on what it needs.

It just recently broke dormancy, so it's growing leaves on one of it's 2 stems.Thumb of 2012-01-05/johoya/81f986

Could use some advice on what to feed her and when to start now that it's putting out growth.
I asked for a flower and he gave me a garden, then grand-kids to work in it with me!!!!
