Annie, great article, and I absolutely love the photos. What a great surprise to find this article this morning. I did not know you could start cuttings from dahlias. Is it hard to do? |

Thanks, Lynn. Taking cuttings must be hard because I'm terrible at it when using the very orderly and careful methods described on the subject. Sterilizing the blade, using just the right media, moisture levels, light, and temperature has about a huge failure rate for me. But outdoors, breaking off a small dahlia branch accidentally, plunking it in a casually crafted finger poke in the garden, patting it down, and proceeding to ignore it thoroughly will produce another plant and tubers with 95% success! ![]() Off to make more changes. I think I might be able to do your second method. Might try it. The chickens are all doing great. They sure don't eat much in the way of bugs though. ![]() |
