Looks like it is still in the online classification list at the ADS site, along with three others. I ended up relying on that online list pretty heavily when I was trying to resolve alternate spellings.

We enjoy breeding new dahlias!
Of the three others two are the same flower. I grew Almand Supreme for many years. Almand Climax, Almand Joy were the same flower and a sport of Kidd's Climax. I used to grow one called Al Almand.

Back a couple of years ago, there was lots of discussion by the cut flower sellers on the East coast that they could not sell yellow dahlias. Supposedly the customers did not like yellow flowers. I do not know the current status of this fad or trend but doubt that it will continue. Yellow is lot like white in that it makes the darker colors pop in a bouquet. To me it is an essential color and even the muted yellows have their place. One of my favorite combinations is a deep yellow and royal purple. Now that is a bouquet!

Yup, Almand Delight is in the Compendium: B LC Yellow, Almand 1996.
No apologies needed, Amanda.

Sylvia, you mention Evelyn Foster as one of your returnees. Is that the one from Alpen? It looks a lovely golden color in their photo - is that how it looks in real life?

Those pictures of Benny's were what made decide I needed AC Chicken Ranch stat! Yum!
ETA: And Drew's yellow bouquets sold me on Happy Day. I think this cubit is bad for my budget. ;)

If I were growing laciniated still AC Chicken Ranch would be a first choice , very good cut flower and a spectacular garden plant . I remember it being quite robust and sturdy at around 5' tall . One of those blooms that make you smile .
We grew a plant of Citron De Cap this year in a segeragated area , the blooms were nice but there were very few .

Kelvin Floodlight can be nice but be sure to tye it up good or the blooms will end up face down in the mud , if I want to grow a short bright yellow A or AA I would probably go with Trooper Dan or something

Love the pics, Benny. Esp. Citron de Cap. That one gave me some trouble figuring out the spelling. There's lots of 'Citron du Cap' out there.

Yes, I got it from Alpen and it looks very much like the picture.

Thumb of 2016-02-16/sylviap/fdfc2c

It isn't a large plant - maybe 3 1/2 to 4 feet tall and it bloomed moderately well.

Amanda, this cubit definitely IS bad for the budget! Hilarious! And your easy to reference database has made overspending so easy!!

The Classification book list Citron du Cap, but regardless of spelling we know what they mean. Rolling on the floor laughing It's one of my favorites!

I still don't feel confident of the proper spelling. Let's see. 'Citron de Cap' gets 937 google results and 'Citron du Cap' gets 1190 google results. Perhaps I should change it.

I went with Swan Islands spelling " De " Shrug!
We tried to grow it in 2014 but it did not bloom ( poor planting location ) so I gave it a whirl last year at the far end of the overflow garden , I did not dig the tubers and it will not be back but it can produce some pretty blooms

No one has mentioned one of my favorite yellows...Ferncliff BlissThumb of 2016-03-01/Islander/e7a331 . This one is very much like a yellow "HH Miss White" with its healthy strong stalks and many blooms shaded with a touch of lavender. It was very very popular with my customers last year. That little rouch of rosy lavender on the soft yellow really ties a bouquet together. Another couple of favorites are two other small flowers, Mission Pixie and Hollyhill Sprite. Both have long wiry stems that make them very usuful at the top of a bouquet. Like Ferncliff Bliss, MIssion Pixie has a wash of pink over the yellow.
Thumb of 2016-03-01/Islander/8f5ecc .

I liked AC Sk8RBOI enough last year to grow it again. I'll be comparing it to Ferncliff Lemon Aura this season.
Thumb of 2016-03-01/Islander/066d53 (Not a great pic as it was just opening). I also grew Ferncliff Spice last year and can't decide whether I like the colors or not. Its well named though as the color overlay is a purple over the yellow that results in a sprinkle of brown. It was a very healthy prolific plant.

If this one makes enough tubers, we will release it in 2017. It is a cut flower with excellent stems and lots of flowers. BB SC Y.
