One of my favorite color combinations. I bet that a lot of people would vote for Kenora Wow as being one of the best dark blend dahlias even though it needs shade to be fantastic.

My favorite dark blend of 2011 was Trelyn Rhiannon. It only managed to produce one fat tuber and some other small ones that had to be tossed. I'm hoping the one fat one has a good eye and lasts the winter. I loved the colors.
We don't have dark blends and pale blends, with our blends being described by colour, such as "r/w bls" meaning red and white blends. How dark is a dark blend?
That's a Kenora Wow's a beauty! Kenora Fantastic has a pretty remarkable bloom but it only produced one questionable tuber for me. Another favorite Dark Blend of mine is High Plains Majesty.
I do not have the exact language from the color classification section but pink is divided into pink and dark pink in our color chart. Blends of pink and lighter colors are light blends and blends of dark pink and lighter colors are dark blends. There are more colors listed for both light and dark blends but the key is how dark the predominant color is. Flame blends sometimes are very close to dark blends and specific combinations of reds and yellows and oranges make flame blends.

Where's the discussion on black dahlias???? The darks that I have this year don't come quite as close to black. I have Karma Chocolate, Nuit d ete? and Summer Nights. Don't know how dark Nuit d ete gets yet. I lost Arabian Nights, and a couple other dark ones last year. What are everyone's favorite darks?

Rip City has gorgeous dark red coloring. I also have HH Black Beauty, HH Black Widow, Karma Choc, and some new balls and MBs, and poms in dark colors that I'm growing this year.
