I got that one as a freebee from Teresa/ Cowlitz (I think), so today, when I managed to plant out my first batch of plants finally I noticed that there were blanks in my spread sheet, but the SwanIsland website gives detailed information.

I saw a pic and just wondered, are there any Jescot Julie-genes in that one or is it just the color that is similar? what kind of stems does Gitts Crazy have? Just wondering, after I discovered that it should grow 5 feet plus tall.

I`m quite sure that I didn`t order it intentionally as I`m not a great fan of stellars (yet? who knows),

so any details would be welcome,
thanks a lot,
bye, Lin

I really like it, but it does not bloom until later in the season. Makes quite a few tubers, though, that keep well. Does grow tall, had nice stems for me, but open centered in the heat (as are most of them, past about 95°f).

I'm still growing it, and am not questioning if it's one I want to cut from my list, just yet, so I'm happier with it than I am with some of the others that are late bloomers, like Zoey Rey.

Hope that helps! No clue as to parentage (although one may be Crazy Leggs, but I really can't remember if I read that somewhere or not) sorry!

Hi Cynthia,
that helps a lot. And as long as the stems are nice and solid, my worries are gone (kind of), and good to hear that it should store well.

Jescot Julie was one that I culled as it had wire-like stems (wiry?), and it did`t impress me...
thanks

I've never seen Jescot Julie here in the US, so it's probably not in the gene pool here. Crazy Legs is a good bet though. In addition to the name, the colors & forms are similar. But Gitts Crazy is way bigger, twice the diameter of CL. Very striking.
