Dicovered today two flowers with different shape, I checked the whole plant and looked hard, where those stems came from, to make sure they are from the same stem. ( Almost sure that I checked properly, but having second thoughts when seeing the pic ![]() Other flowers from another sideshoot were like the original. Is this a local mutation of somatic cells? As it is not the whole stem that changed I reckon the tubers are not affected. Just out of curiosity, could you make some kind of cuttings in order to keep that mutation? Reckon I like it because it almost looks waterlily-ish... Sorry, didn't have my camera with me, just a pic from my tired phone, bye, Lin ![]() |

Very rare to see a form sport where the ray florets take on a different shape. As with any sport, it is worth keeping only if it is a nice flower. Keeping it just because it is a sport is a lot of work for nothing. We like to place a sign on our porch that says: We are in the garden. Really, we are always in the garden. |

I quite like your sport with its little glow of yellow. It looks like a very nice cut flower. Salish Dahlias |
