We enjoy breeding new dahlias!
Variegated cut flower question: What color scheme sells the best? I believe the choices are:
Background
white
yellow
orange
pink
lavender
purple(light purple)

Spots and streaks
red
dark red
dark pink.
lavender
purple
black red

My personal favorites are Art Act, Hollyhill Tempest colors and the darker version of Hollyhill Bewitched and Hollyhill Candystripe(that we have not grown for 10 years). Some of these seem to have more than two colors as the spots spread color onto the background color.
We like to place a sign on our porch that says: We are in the garden. Really, we are always in the garden.
