I grew HH Candystripe for a season, and enjoyed it, but don't plan on growing it again. I am tired of it... And until just now, I didn't understand why. I believe the tight variegation and the laciniated petals are just too busy for me. Shea's Rainbow and Colewood Cherie went bye-bye, too, for the same reason. ![]() ![]() I also tired of Carmen Fiesta and Mingus Toni's blended variegations, perhaps the yellow undertones is what ran any charm quickly down for me. ![]() ![]() Conversely, I really enjoyed Be A Sport (albeit the color scheme is not to my liking). The blunt petals deliver the bicolor punch in a rather delicious way that made me pause to enjoy the variegation inside. Granted, the form and color has a bit to be desired, and I would LOVE to see more of these consistent bi-variegates more readily available. ![]() ![]() ![]() I still love the Blackberry Ripple, but am hoping to find a similar one with better stems and a shorter season of open centers. The crisp white background and purplish red flecks are endlessly interesting to me, and always makes me pause in the row to admire them. ![]() ![]() For that matter, Hulin's Carnival is a constant wonder to me, as well... Perhaps the white background? ![]() CC |
