| Micro Dahlias: The class originated in the San Francisco area where they actively encouraged clubs to provide a class in the shows for micro dahlias. They wanted all types to be represented as micro flowers and the size was suggested to be 2 inches or less but they have also mentioned 2.5 inches or less. I believe the ADS encouraged clubs to have a class for them at the shows last year. I believe the intention is to have them included into the Classification book when there are enough of them. Bill McLaren of Alpen fame has been busy breeding them and has several of them. FD would only be one of many of the types. It is extraordinarily difficult to breed SCs and cactus that small. We like to place a sign on our porch that says: We are in the garden. Really, we are always in the garden. |
