I am not much of a fan of heirloom dahlias. Some people think they are special because they have survived so many years but most of them are just the ones that make easy storing tubers and are rather difficult to lose. If you look at pictures of dahlias grown in the 1910s through 1940, you will see some very nice dahlias that are long extinct as the tubers did not keep all that well. Perhaps they can do like Jurassic Park and bring some of the really nice ones back for us to grow. Too many flowers, not enough time! |
