We enjoy breeding new dahlias!
I find it strange that red is one of the last colors discussed. I have always admired any dahlia that is a pure, fully saturated red. I would call such reds, crimson, or fire engine, or stop light red. I dislike reds that fade although some fading may be inevitable with a fully saturated color. The ADS has divided red into red and dark red. The break between the two colors is very subtle and there are many dahlias that could fall on either side depending on the day and the person doing the color matching.

We like to place a sign on our porch that says: We are in the garden. Really, we are always in the garden.
