We enjoy breeding new dahlias!
Always a late bloomer for me too. It was so late that when our club had it as a challenge flower several years ago, only one scraggly bloom was at the show and it got no award. Our show is on Labor Day week end. At a show on the third week end in September, I saw the most amazing, fully pink, large(10+ inches in diameter) triple entry at a show. It was really a stunner.
We like to place a sign on our porch that says: We are in the garden. Really, we are always in the garden.
