I have been meaning to write this farewell note to my old friend for a few weeks, now, but this somehow seemed like a very appropriate time.

What a wonderful story about Falco. I usually avoid reading these sad stories because it brings back all the pain of losing a best friend.

I think our boy was trying to do the same thing Falco did. We new he was dying, but he wanted to go outside that night so I let him out. When he didn't come back I went looking for him. Found him lying under a tree in the darkness. I coaxed him back into the house. Much later that night my husband went out with him and they sat on the porch steps. Buddy died with his head in my husbands lap. It's almost been a year since, but the tears still flow when I think of that night.

What a touching ending, especially knowing that he did not leave alone. Should you want to write a story about it, just let me know. Sometimes it can be healing (cathartic) to express the emotions.

Oh Lance, I was crying like a baby just writing what I said above. I'll see if I can put something together, but I'm not much of a writer. You'll need to edit.

Do what you feel comfortable with, and I have no problems helping to make it coherent.
