and the beloved Winston the pug
I cut strips of denim from discarded jeans and braided them to make a dog "tug of war" toy. That is Winston the pug's favorite game. He doesn't "do" plastic. Neither did my late Westie, Tiffany. I prefer natural fibers. I guess it is rubbing off on my pampered pooches.

He is finally learning that we only play "tuggies" with the toy. Not, for example, when folding laundry.

For Bella the cat, I knit wool mice with a couple of drops of Valerian extract or dried catnip with the stuffing. She likes her mice almost as much as she likes plastic soda bottle tops. She loves when I play with the laser pointer from my corporate days. Hartz is selling a laser pointer like toy now.
