Today I walked 8 flights of stairs to the main floor then walked the 8 flights back up to the 8th floor where I work.
Going UP was very difficult. I went 4 flights up, then 2, then 1 at a time until I reached the 8th floor............. huff, puff, huffpuffhuffpuff............ took awhile for my heart to stop beating so fast.......... Whistling
By the time a week of this has gone by, I should be doing better. I don't usually have more than 5 stairs at a time, or 1 flight........... so totally unused to walking stairs anymore! Whistling Rolling my eyes.

nah, don't need to build up leg muscles - got them!! always have had. I actually have too large of calves - very muscular........

Maridell, do you find much of a fluctuation in your weight? I'm surprised at how easily I can gain 2lbs. It could be water weight or salt that makes a difference.

It fluctuates 1 or 2 pounds and it seems to be attributable to my calorie intake and exercise. Since tracking this stuff is new to me it has been helpful to see that consistency is key. But even so there are bound to be fluctuations due to, like you said, water weight and salt intake, and other stuff.

I'm on track with my goal and it feels good to be in control - I have no idea how many calories I was eating before I started tracking.

I agree. I read that people who write down their intake lose more and stick to diets better.

Fluctuation also depends on the time of day (always weigh myself at the same time, in the morning), and whether it's before or after exercising or a meal.
I never eat before exercising at the gym - not good for you, cuz you're more sluggish. Much better to eat lightly afterwards. Big Grin
Heading out camping - just waiting for Bob to get home and load the truck - I've got most of the stuff packed and on the deck waiting....... Whistling

Last week I lost 5 lbs this week only 2 so far. Tomorrow morning is the day that counts. I'm hoping for one more pound.

That's a good rule. I am getting better at eliminating or reducing the night snack.
