Walk in Peace.
I got you acceptance Susan. so happy to see you.
I had my coffee with creamer and sweet and low. I'm thinking of leaving out the Sweet and Low and maybe drop to one tsp. creamer.
Also had 3 jellybeans as I headed out door for walk. Forgot to mention also had shredded bits.
When I got back I decided to "clear my path. I can't stand cedar branches reaching out and hitting me. Makes me itch too...So I got my pruners and made Charley a happy boy. I cut the hedge, cedar and wisteria out of my face. So I got extra exercise. Yahhhh!!! Hurray! Hurray!

Rolling on the floor laughing Maridell - you and I are on The Same Page!! Rolling on the floor laughing It means, if Bob & I decide to split a beer (hardly ever drink, but now when it's hot, it's refreshing!) we can each have 1/2 can....... not the tall ones, the regular size ones! Big Grin

I just sent you a "friend request" on My Fitness Pal!

I just got back from 2x 15 minute stiff walk (when the Church is sooooooo close, I only get to walk when I'm NOT with my DH, during the week. Otherwise he wants to leave later, and we ride the car over.........) *Blush*
All the walking I'm doing is not only good for the waistline, but my knee (that I sprained in April 2011) is getting stronger.
I know I walked to the Church in 15 min before I hurt it, now it's taking that long again! So, I may hobble a bit, but it's a FAST hobble Big Grin Rolling on the floor laughing

I have a question for those of you who have been on the myfitnesspay site for a while. When entering the food diary, I am finding that the quantities are not very flexible. For example, one of the small snack packs of cottage cheese (90 calories) - my husband and I split one on our fruit salads today. But the site will not let me put only 1/j2 of a pack. So I got credited with a whole pack. Not much, maybe, but I think it is overestimating other foods also. I know it does not matter exactly - the longterm pattern is what is important. But am I missing something? ( I also realize I may tend to underestimate portion sizes, but the cottage cheese was easily measured).

oh, I usually just put 0.5 in the area on the left, and leave the area on the right alone.
You Can edit the left one and overtype.

I just started on this on June 3rd, so not very long.

I purchased a FitBit.................Need to really get "into" it a bit more than what I have been.

Your body will go into "starvation mode" if you are way low-carb. I am a prime example and am fighting to turn things around so I can compete again this fall. Gads, it's hideous. They do not have a whale class...........

I like the sleep tracking feature. Makes me see how many times a night I do roll around but not really wake up. No wonder sometimes I am exhausted.

It looks like it comes from the UK as the site I found lists it for sale in Pounds Sterling. Whistling

Hm, I saw it on the Best Buy Sunday paper flyer a couple months ago, but I ordered it directly from the FitBit website and I don't remember it being listed in anything but dollars.

when I opened their website, it directed to the UK, but you have a drop down menu for other countries (not Canada, though), so of course initially it was in Pounds.......

I was emailing back and forth with my daughter re: MFP site, and she sends her hearty wishes and support to this group here!! As she also says "Good! I'm glad you've found other supporters. Take and use as much support as you can get. It's never a bad thing. :) " Lovey dubby

The heat here is making it difficult to keep up any exercise program. I walked yesterday and today at 7 AM and it was already breathless. Then I worked in the garden for about an hour (moving very slowly) - mostly watering and picking what few vegetables are not burned up. The tomatoes seem okay, but they are hot to the touch when I pick them. I worry about our well when watering. Anyway, not as much exercise as I would like.

Melanie - you need to drink more water when it's SO hot...... you're going to lose all your weight in water Rolling on the floor laughing
I think you're likely losing weight working (albeit slowly) in this heat! Keep yourself hydrated, please! Thumbs up

I was out today gardening also. I thought 85 degrees would feel okay after a few days in the mid to high 90's. The HUMIDITY must be ridiculous because I was sweating! I did have my jug of water with me...

Susan - I know drinking is important. We carry water bottles on our walk and make a point of stopping at set intervals and drinking even if we don't feel thirsty. My husband is really strict about this. I admit I stay in the garden in the sun too long (he fusses at me about not wearing a hat every minute!). But these days I am being aware of all this. You are right - I don't want to lose water. I want to lose FAT so that my jeans that I bought last fall and wore on our trip to Hawaii will fit again. They are uncomfortably tight now and I knew if I did not TAKE STEPS it would only get worse. I have even pulled out our WII machine and started using that again even though I feel a bit silly (66 years old and prancing around the room in response to a machine!). But at least that is inside exercise and my husband is kind enough to encourage me instead of laughing at the picture I present!

I know that I don't drink as much water as I should, so my talking about is my way of encouraging ME to drink more water Big Grin
I know, at 58, that I would feel silly too and would likely wait until my DH wasn't home to use a WII......... IF I had one.......
I wait until he's not home to use the stepper for pete's sake!
Your DH is wonderful to encourage you! Lovey dubby
I'm lucky to have a "walking partner" in my neighbour, because my DH works in construction all day and the last thing he wants to do in the evening is walk around the park! Sticking tongue out

Walk in Peace.
I don't either Susan. But I drink more water if I put the flavoring in it.
104 degrees here this afternoon. Everything is wilting. Hubby helped me move some plants to shade I didn't want to die from heat. Japanese Maples and couple others. So I got my exercise. It is horrid. Poor old dog we got her a kiddie pool.
Everyone hang in there and stay safe during these hot weathers....
