Hooked on Hoya: Hoya Database
|Whether we're a collector of Hoya or just have a few, the one thing we are always trying to find is information on how better to grow our plants. We'd like to know where the Hoya we have was collected. This information helps us in so many ways!|
Knowing that our Hoya was discovered, for example, in the Philippines (almost always warm), on the beach (sandy soil), growing under a heavy vine (shady), where it gets rained on every morning (likes to be kept watered) is priceless information for a grower to have.
Knowing also that a person in Canada can grow a particular Hoya successfully in a North facing window by just misting it twice a day is also priceless information to have.
This is the kind of information that prompted me to create this Database. Not only as a catalogue of Hoya photos to help us with identification but also, and just as importantly, as a place to learn how best to grow them.
That being said I encourage you all to not only include your wonderful photos of flowers and leaves but to also take a moment and enter in the Comments area where you are in the world and how you grow that specific plant.
Thank you and enjoy!
