Finally I managed to root one. Problem is that his leaves are curling up. New leaves seem healthy but are thin. Do his new leaves start thin and then grow huge as they age? What does he require by way of light and water to keep him happy?

It's all about choices.
LeeAnn...by 'thin' do you mean..? With the construction of the leaf...some will come out with a bit of a curl... The leaves don't get HUGE at once and mine stay medium (like pottsii) in the gh but outside they can get VERY VERY large. It is all about the environment.

By thin I mean narrow. Good to know the leaves aren't an issue :)
I had to translate a foreign web page (which is iffy at best) but I read it was found in a moist jungle growing amongst mangroves. Does that mean he prefers warmer and wetter than some Hoya?

Thanks for the help Carol!

Don't think so...many hoyas are found in the mangroves (there are a hell of a lot of mangroves over there!!!). H. diversifolia has been found in mangroves, as H. imperialis has been...H. monetteae as well. I grow H. pentaphlebia with all the rest of the gang...no special treatment: bright indirect light, average humidity etc. Humidity is best over 40-50% around hoyas for most of them.

Thanks Carol! He's just an almost 1 year old cutting...maybe I'm expecting too much.
He's in a North window and gets misted every day. I was concerned the soil might be too loose of a mix for him and he wasn't getting enough to drink.

With your winter, he is probably dormant...could use lots more light when spring happens....

Gotcha!
I'll move him to a South window.
