After 13 years online, Cubits.org is scheduled to be shut down. Please make sure you have the contact information for all your friends, and that you download whatever content you want from this site.

| Good Morning all, After reading about the possible shut down, I have to say I am a little confused. I know that Dave opened up Cubits.org, but I thought the individual cubits were owned by others, so if this is the case how can this happen? So if this does happen, where do that leave us who chat with each other and the owners of the different cubits? What is DG afraid of, I know that some of us still go to DG's some. Dee   |

| I'm totally heartbroken by this news. Can't stop crying. Although the individual Cubits are owned by the cubit owners IB is saying that Dave is still competing with them, because he owns the main website. I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for helping make the Hoya Cubit the best Hoya base ever!! We're unsure if this will be a permanent or temporary shutdown on Friday. Dave's speaking with his lawyers. | You know Lee Anne, I don't understand how they can do this as Dave doesn't charge for it's use, he doesn't control the individual cubits (that I know of) so how can they demand this be shut down, it is "owned and run" by many, not 1. Maybe I just don't understand this web business. Such a shame, I love being able to "talk" with people from all over the place, compare pictures and ideas and trading and such. Dee  |

This news is very upsetting. I thought we had a pretty good site here. I especially feel sad for all of the cubit owners that put so much of their time and effort into it - I'm sure that hundreds of hours if not thousands were put into some of these cubits - very sad news indeed!  |

| I had a big legal fight against the BBC many years ago over copyright. Very tricky area....Interlectual, moral...the list went on. I am sure tho that you have to actually sign your rights away on interlectual...who knows. Sad news... |

| Hey guys, I just went to jahoo groups and you can create your own group. What if we do that, if Dave is not successful and this shuts down. We would at least can do it tomorrow - we can always come back if Dave is successful in getting to keep this going. At least we can stay in contact with each other. What do ya'll think??? Dee |

| Yahoo is really difficult to load photos to....and is one of the reasons the StemmaJournal Forum is not as active as it could be.... What about another venue... I am so computer challenged I wouldn't know where to look. CERTAINLY not DG. I am over it. Leap. The net will appear. |

| I don't know about Yahoo groups either. I joined two yahoo groups a couple of years ago and about a year ago all of a sudden couldn't access them anymore to post. I can log on and read posts but get some weird yahoo message when I try to send a post. I am on Facebook as plantladylin. My e-mail address: [email protected] . I'm sorta a newbie to Facebook too, joined a year or so ago but have a hard time figuring it out sometimes. I don't know if Facebook has groups. |
