Hello froml Hawaii. In the latest P..S Hoyan. CB states that Dale K. and Ted Green both travelled to Pohnpei years ago and brought back Schneei. NOT TRUE. Dale did bring it back 15 years or so ago. Ted lost his. Got it back again from Carol this year. Carol had gotten her plant from David L. Ted did not think it was Schneei so he went to Pohnpei and Truk this year. Found nothing on Truk but did find what he thinks is the real Schneei on Pohnpei. Both Carol and Ted agree it's different from the one she had from David L. So, now we have 2 plants , similar and it's possible that one is Trukensis as CB. says. That would be good. We checked David L.'s accession number and it looks like he got his plant from Sydney Botanic Garden. and who know's where they got it from. ???

We will have to wait till it blooms now, and hopefully we will all have both Schneei and Trukensis. I't's such a pretty plant and flower.

It's all about choices.
Isn't it a bummer to have to wait for flowers all of the time????? Whistling

I am afraid that Christine Burton must be getting senile... She is starting to repeat herself, using different stories that contradict eachother and her absolute 'facts' don't jibe. Rolling my eyes. She should stop her diatribes while she is still able to.
Leap. The net will appear.

Just looking at P.S Hoyan again. Another untruth. Ted did not buy the Schneei from anyone. No one SOLD it to him. Carol gave him a piece of her Schneei this year..She had gotten it from D. Liddle. then he realized it wasn't the original collection made by Dale. K so that's when he travelled to Pohnpei. A small point but an untruth is an untruth no matter what.

As no one has collected Trukensis it's doubtful that DL's plant is that, but maybe someone from Sydney Botanical got it from Truk.
Aloha, Dorothy.
