Not much new here, but I did just get a new camera, and I'm testing it out. All photos were taken without a tripod and reduced in size to upload faster. Lovely Doug. H memoria is lovely when it gest going, isnt it? |
Thank you Dom. H. memoria has really become one of my favorites now. It is less fussy about humidity than many of my Hoyas and blooms almost continually with no special care. You can't ask for more than that in a plant. |
Doug I just can't get over your hoyas and blooms! I luv the Dischidia ovata. That's another one for my wishlist...lol! |

♬ ♠♪ ♫ ♩ Happy Birthday Doug! ♫ ♪ ♩ ♬ ♪ Great growing Doug, you really have the touch ... your plants all look wonderful! The photo's are great, what kind of camera did you get? I haven't had a hoya bloom in quite awhile. H. australis ssp. australis has had two peduncles for a few months now and still no sign of blooms. H. magnifica has three or four teeny peduncles forming but it looks like growth has halted. My memoria has only had one measly bloom since I rooted the cutting a few years ago, LOL. I know my plants would bloom more if I were a better caretaker and paid more attention to their needs. Seems like my attention span is waning the older I get. ![]() Have a wonderful day! ![]() |

Happy Birthday to you too Lin! It is kind of neat sharing the same birthday with someone. No more 40's for me - the big 50 this year, and it has been a horrible birthday - We are in the middle of one of the worst snowstorms on record today, and this is after having the snowiest February ever recorded here in VT. The snow is cutting off most of the light from my plant porch now. I'm just hoping the glass holds up to the pressure. Even the snowplows are getting stuck here today. Winter is relentless this year. Thanks for the compliments on the plants Donna. I got a point and shoot Panasonix Lumix camera that is way, way smarter than I am. I will never use more than 20% of the features, but I am encouraged at what I have been able to do with it thus far. Back out to fight the snow! Doug |

Aaah Doug, the big 50, congratulations! I turned 63 and some days feel 93, LOL. It was windy and 70º here yesterday and I was complaining about being cold ... I'm chastising myself after seeing your pictures! Oh my goodness ... I've never seen so much snow! Is it unusual for y'all to still have so much snow the first week of March? I will keep good thoughts that the heavy weight of snow doesn't compromise those glass windows!! I know I'd be on pins and needles with worry, I'd probably move the plants into the house for a few days ... even if it meant hanging them from the ceiling. Keep us posted ... |
Happy birthday Doug! Hope you had a great day even though the weather was not nice! Glad to see your pictures, and keep up the work. Love the car! Take care and hope to be up again soon, after all of this snow is gone. Dee |

IML 1683 sp. 'Philippines'. Beautiful Carol! I don't know a thing about valid publication of any plant but that is one pretty hoya fitchii, CMF8 or whatever. ![]() Love, Love, Love that Tecomanthe venusta! |

Thanks, Lin. It's not perfect 'cause I can't grow H. linearis ( ![]() ![]() ![]() The Tecomanthe is one of my favorites...it is very uncommon here (I have the only one, I think) and soon that tree is going to die and come down...so the affect will be gone... ![]() Leap. The net will appear. |

I sorry for late to say "Happy birthday to Doug and Lin ". Good luck for you. Songkran |
Thank you Songkran! Carol: Are you and your husband okay? I've been watching the news the past few hours and heard that all of Hawaii is under Tsunami warnings after that catastrophic earthquake in Japan. Stay safe! |
Yes, Carol please stay safe! The video of what that Tsunami did to Japan is terrifying to say the least. I guess I will take all my snow over the ever present threat of one of those coming ashore. |
Carol, hope you are safe. Love your Tecomanthe venusta, they hoya's too but that goes without saying. Dee |

All safe and sound here. Sirens all night (tsumani warning system) and some earthquakes rattles...so not much sleep...but the waves were tiny...3-7'.... ![]() Leap. The net will appear. |

So glad you are safe! |
