Ylva and her husband Stefan are great people. Ylva loves hoyas and Stefan has a great camera = perfect combination! Thumbs up

The only bad thing is that we live quite far from each other... Sad

Nice site to visit. I was pleased to see that they have a really good pic of Carol's Noelle. I have one coming from her and am really impressed with both the bloom and the leaf. Can hardly wait!

Carol,

Is megalantha a difficult one?
Is it good to travel? I meant is thick or thin?

I'd love to have this one!

Mitzi,

Megalantha is pretty tough, but may be quite a challenge in your very hot conditions. It comes from high in the mountains of Fiji, where day time temperatures are about 22-25 degrees, night time is 15 degrees with mist and moisture descending with the clouds.
This info comes direct from Nathalie Simonsson Juhonewe who collected the plant I have :)

Thank you Juliek, it seems very propitious for the ranch climate, but during the summer temperatures are around 29-34 degrees.

The only way to find out is to try!

Thank you

Indeed! We all try different species, some work in our climates, and some don't.
It's a harsh way to learn - but we all go there!!

Just a quick observation: there are two sp. with confusingly similar names; megalaster (with big leaves), and megalantha (with smaller leaves).

Just looked at the pics of this plant, I am really impressed. Beautiful color and shape of the flowers and scented too.
Not that I am going to buy, I would sure enjoy pics when someone else is growing it.
This cool misty mountain weather is not easy to replicate here, specially in summer which is 10-11 month long here. Only place I see that is at the florist shop- in their 'freezer'.
