I think we all feel a bit of what they must feel being cut like that ... there's no one to save the poor little abominations ... just toss them in with your garden waste ... to get rid of them ... ![]() ![]() ![]() On a more sane note, I agree totally about cutting the white off. IMHO, it is just encouraging the plant to go south, which both of my KP and KQ did when I just 'left them to it'. Christine |

Well normally I leave them if there are just a few or one here & there, but these new ones I have at the new growth points, have seemed to stop the growth. There has been no new growth all summer since those appeared. So maybe I best cut them off too. ![]() |

But they appear green.... Are they truly white? "When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other." - Chinese Proverb |

Well, they ARE a kind of "yellowish, greenish white", but they start out that way & then get a kind of yellow white as time goes by. I think that is because of the kind of hoyas they are as opposed to KP or KQ. But they are concidered white leaves as they have none of the regular green like whats in the variegated leaves in them. |

I understand. NEAT! I do love those special leaves... What's the worst that'll happen if you cut those off?? I bet new growth will begin soon after you snip them off. But I hate to give bad advice.... ![]() When I snip on my Hoya to give away cuttings, in a month or so, I have lots of new growth, from many new points. Tom from PLG says people who share cuttings are rewarded with nice full looking plants..... Curious to know what you decide. At the end of the day, you're their mother, and Mom knows best for her babies!! ![]() ![]() ![]() "When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other." - Chinese Proverb |

I would definitely cut them off. The leaves lacking green struggle and suck all of their nourishments from the rest of the plant which suffers.... Leap. The net will appear. |

I agree with Carol. ![]() Christine |

OK...I cut them off. Now to see if the plants grow again. Probably won't until spring now anyway, but at least I know that they will be healthier. :-) |

I KNOW it was REALLY HARD - looking down at them in the garbage bin... ![]() |

I don't think you'll have any regrets when they start multiple new growth tips! I hope they knock your socks of in spring..... Can't wait to know how it turns out! ![]() ![]() ![]() "When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other." - Chinese Proverb |

Looks like I am years too late but hopefully you are still on Goldenca… I have a Hoya but it's more the gnarled leaves but they're all growing white. I am wondering what happened to your plant? I hope you see this. Thank you! |
