I've got cuttings of H. pubicalyx splash, splash B , Little leaf and RHP going in the greenhouse, .they all have got roots and will be ready to pot up soon, on some of them I'm seeing this ? out along the vine .......like arieal roots....
well, now I can't find the picture.......................
I did on a couple of mine, the rest I just let go as they are on hoops and I really don't want to untangle them. I do try to take cuttings with the things on when I am sending the to someone. I have other pubicalyx if you would like some different ones in the spring.
Yes, those are little roots forming along the stem. If planted and kept moist, they will keep growing. They are forming because it is nice and humid in your greenhouse, and It is hoya's nature to seek out places to root, so they explore and send out little roots when they feel moisture. If you just leave them alone, those will eventually just dry up...especially when the humidity goes down.
Marcy Thanks, I guess I'll just leave them alone then, tho on a couple of the cuttings they are long enough I could layer them down and let them root, which would help to fill out the plant faster. When the temps at night drop below 60 we heat it, and it's misted also. I have a lot in there that I don't want going dormant or slowing down too much.
Yes, that is a good way to fill up a pot. You can use bobbie pins to hold them down. Or rocks on top like Carol does, or both. I usually sprinkle a little dirt over the tops of them to help keep them moist and help hold them down.
