Maybe we could start planning this now....to happen in a couple of months...say April?
Anybody want to pick names?
I have a couple of suggestions for this year's swap:
1. When we sign up for the swap, I think we could put a few of the hoyas we are looking for, to give our 'giftor' something to go on. I certainly would like knowing what my Swap Buddy would really like...their 'druthers...' as I know I have a better chance to make them happy!!!
2. Perhaps someone who lives within driving distance of the Canadian Border could coordinate receiving packages for the Canadians...to makeit possible for them to participate... and then a Canadian who lives close by could pick them up and remail them....at the recipients' cost, of course....just a thought.
3. Others who live outside of the US...Mitzi, Christina, ????...I think it might be difficult to swap with you, unless you feel otherwise. You have more experience than us. I know I have shipped cuttings to Christina and she to me with no problems but that was YEARS ago...maybe things have changed?

GREAT!!! MJ...why don't you list some hoyas on your 'wish list'....make it easier on your buddy? and all the information will be in one place instead of having to go looking for it?
Sounds good to me. My want list is to vast to suggest any at the moment. I'll have to boil it down. I know off the top of my list is megalaster. Imperialis Alba those are my unlikly group.
Yeah, I hope we do it again and I think the wish list would be great.
As for the Canadians, I know Doug lives close to the Canadians on the Vermont side but I know he also works. If there is anybody who lives in close proximity to the Vermont area I would take a day or two and drive any order up just for the fun of it, gratis!

Alka...just think: what is common to you may NOT be common to someone else. This swap is about sharing! Years ago on another forum (in another life!!!) Christine CeeDub got my name and she had just started collecting. I still have the beautiful Dream Catcher she sent me from one of their native groups. I love it...I cherish it.
Julie...YOU Dear are responsible for adding 9 new Hoya's to my collection...which by the way are doing wonderful...so you would most definitely be a great contributor !
I would love to be included. I think it doesn't matter what you have, it is about the sharing and comraderie and let's face it, who doesn't love opening that package. If you receive something you already have just maybe it will perform better than the one you have.
Julie you added ones to my collection that I didn't have.
Alka, this is one way to expand, you help someone along. And just maybe you might have something other than a hoya that would be appreciated like Carol said. I remember the first time I got something from Carol, she inlcuded a shell necklace, which I still have to this day. My grand-daughter likes to wear it when she comes over.
Thanks Carol, I would love to share my little collection. Please include me as well. And if my buddy is interested ,I have Plumeria, Fragrant white begonia, cuttings to share too.
Another one of my silly questions....but here we go!
If we have cuttings rooted in hydroton/growing semi-hydro, and we were to include these in a swap - would we be breaking any international rules? I was thinking that we cannot send plants in soil - but we do send them wrapped in sphagnum etc. Would hydroton be breaking the rules???
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
Julie

OK....all of this said (and hoping more will jump on the bandwagon)...I will start a new thread:
PLEASE post your name and some hoyas on your wishlist. HINT: wishlist shouldn't contain some of the rarer or newer publications because you aren't likely to get them
From this NEW list we will formulate the share list where we'll put addresses etc.
