Hi, I have been looking for a pachyclada. Plain white or red/white, either one will do. If you have both,I prefer red/white. I am open to buying or trading, whatever works.
Thanks.
Alka
Umm...... money, Tillandsia,Hoya cuttings,Plumeria cuttings/seeds,some tropical plant seeds and a big huge smile .........what else... If you are looking for anything specific not listed here, let me know that too. Here or on c mail.
Thanks .
Yes I do ,just got them few weeks ago,for the first time. They have not bloomed yet (except coconut orchid) and not big enough to devide yet. That is why I did not list them.
Alka what Tillandsia's do you have, I don't have the pachyclada, but maybe something else.
Dee, what Orchids are you looking for ? I have some very cute Tolumnia's ( mini Oncidiums) I can trade.
They are adorable mounted and super easy to grow.
I don't care for tillidasia's. I have 2 orchids. Don't know the names. I am finding I like them and have been looking at some, bad mistake. I could get into that habit like hoya's real easy.
that is ok alka, not your new ones, I thought you had others. What kind of things do you grow.
MJ, what kind of blooms do they have, do you have any pictures?
Warning, orchids can be more addicting than even Hoyas, there are just so so many. If you want some, do you still work in the city? If so, I can give you a couple to start out with, can meet you at lunch time sometime.
Hey Renee, yes I still work @tyndall. Would love to get some starts. Want some Hoya to trade. We can set up something and maybe meet at pier park. I just love that place.
OK, just came back......
MJ, Tillandsia is supposed to get red flowers but i do not have the name with me right now. I just bought 2 plants of it recently and I can trade one.
Looking specifically for pachyclada only.....at this time.Trying to be selective if possible.
Dee, I have many plumerias that I collected over last 2-3 years. I can take cuttings from those that grew or branched enough to provide cuttings.
Almost all are fragrant varieties.
Other than that, it is various plants from local Lowes and nurseries. Hard to list everything from garden . Recenly began with Hoya but I see that you have probably everything I might have .
Most of orchids are Catteleyas ( about 4),one coconut orchid, couple of Oncidiums and jewel orchids and may have one or two more .They will take their own time to grow big enough for division. First I have to see if they survive since I do not know much about them.Just experimenting what works.
I am not going to collect more Orchids until I can figure out care routine . want to see them bloom before I buy more.
It is pretty much same about Hoyas, except that I have been looking for pachyclada for months now....even before I got other plants.
Let me now what works for you , in exchange for pachy .
I am also wondering if it is hard to root! Does anyone know?
I find pachy easy to root and grow at least for me.I now grow and root all my hoyas S/H and have not had any problems.I have a large pachyclada in plain turface and a small cutting in clay balls. Both are doing well.
I have Hydroton at home. I received cuttings of 'Hindu Rope' in swap that I put in straight Hydroton . I leave very little water in the bottom of cup of Hydroton and replenish only when this water is used up. Just an experiment.
So,if and when I get a pachyclada cutting, I plan on doing same.
I grow 2 pachycladas S/H.One in hydroton and one in turface.I just let them both dry out before adding water. They both are growing much better then when I had them in my coir mix.
