Another of my mysteries is blooming and I can't find an ID. My first thought was H. pottsii but the petioles are quite pink and I haven't seen any photos of pottsii umbels with pink petioles.... ![]() ![]() tia... Leap. The net will appear. |

BINGO!!! It IS H. pottsii 'Nicholsonii'!!! I checked Christina's website and there it was....even the unopened buds on the open umbel. YAY. it really is a great hoya. FYI - nearly allof my old tags faded as I used the wrong pen....so I have had one armed tied behind my back for a while. Finally getting them ID'd as they bloom. Anyway...it IS a lovely hoya. And as for blooming? There are 5 umbels on the plant opening right now. And it has a good fragrance...tho' I can't pin point it.... Leap. The net will appear. |

That is a beautiful pottsii 'nicholsonii'. Carol,is it same as nicholsoniae ? I read somewhere that nicholsoniae has yellowish flowers and no scent. Does it have skinny stems? My nicholsonie cutting from swap died despite my best efforts...I was sort of expecting that though. ![]() May be I should try again... |
