I'm right here in Florida...TS Debby luckily did no damage to my plants :0)
A friend suggested that they probably felt right at home with the plethera of rain and wind.

I've placed 2 orders with Joni and will order from her again.

Carol, are you going to have any more quick sales? I want carnosas and carnosa crosses. Joni doesn't have carnosa and I received the one cross she has.

I apologize for butting into this post, but does anyone know who might have the regular carnosa KQ for sale? I don't mean the "tri-coloured" or the "superb" form, but the regular variegated KQ, with the more pale green leaves, compared with tri-coloured or the so-called "superb form". I've checked every website and cannot find this plant. Everyone seems to be selling only the "superb form" or the tri-coloured. Thanks for any advice. Fondly, Patrick

What in SamHill is the superb form? What craziness are they inventing now?

Cowboyflowerman sells the superb form which I've received twice and it is a beaut but I don't know if it because of his growing conditions or what but I wasn't successful with (could have been me). Exotic Angel's baskets are beautiful as well and the green is real dark and leaves have a shine.. I know exactly what you're talking about and sometimes you can find baskets of this at Lowe's or Home Depot and they are grown by other sellers like Costa Farms. I've been looking for these as well because the leaves are not cupped.

What is different from it (Superb) and H. carnosa?

I really don't know how to answer that except I know they're all KQ. You're friends with Jodie aren't you? Maybe he can tell you.

Carol...the "superb form" is like KQ, however the green is much darker, the leaves have more gloss to them, and the pink leaves are reddish. It's a beauty, but I still prefer the regular KQ, and can't find it anywhere; everyone is selling the "superb form" also called "tri-coloured". Thanks, Susan, I'll check Lowe's and see if they might have the "old-fashioned" KQ. I'll also check with EA...stupid of me not to have thought of them first. The "superb" form is stable...I've had mine for several years and it remains distinctly different from the regular KQ. Fondly, Patrick

Hi Patrick:

Am I right to say that the leaves on the "old fashioned KQ" are not cupped, that they're more of a smooth leaf?

Jun 29, 2012 3:44 PM CST
Susan..you're right, but the "cupped" leaves is a variable...there are cupped leaves on both types of carnosa KQ...but, more prominent on the superb form, and some leaves on the superb form are totally flat...so, it varies..as most things in life!! Fondly, Patrick

this is my Carnosa, if this is what you are looking for and you are unable to find it elsewhere maybe I can set you up with some clippings...

Lately I've been seeing the 4 inch pots of EA KQ with heart shape leaves and I have been buying them although, as you say, the leaves are variable but they're all so cute!

I have no clue what I am doing here. I have so much going on just now I am not sure I have time to try and propagate new stock. But, here I am and I am a lover of Hoya but never had the time , now I am taking the time. I need a change and this could be it. Point me in the right direction of someone who propagates these babies please.

Also, has anyone seen or own the new Grass Leafed Hoya..'Hoya refusa'. Logee has it in their new catalog.

Ted Green, (Rare-Hoyas.com) is upgrading his web site on September 10th 2012 with new plants, new prices and comments.

Sorry we couldn't show a picture of a lovely golden flowered H. chewianum. Tried to put the picture on Cubits but ran into some problems.
