The Temp has gotten to hot for my Hoya's,some are already been brought inside!! Now do i need to bring them all in or can they take very high temp's and high humidity if they're completely in the shade. The sun has caused some damage already.I can't believe it happened so quick but i do have some yellow leaves and some of the more succulent ones i've noticed some mushy spots on the leaves. I need to put in shade out of sun completely???.They will still be in bright light and heat. Or bring inside, that will put them in the a/c??? ![]() Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Princess' ![]() Hoya carnosa 'Chelsea' ![]() Hoya curtisii ![]() Hoya DS-70 ![]() I asked for a flower and he gave me a garden, then grand-kids to work in it with me!!!! |

Jelina...hoyas grow happily in countries that get VERY warm and are VERY humid....ours are more delicate because we make them grow in pots instead of letting them scramble around in trees. They will be fine in the shade... ![]() Leap. The net will appear. |

thank you very much, We had a drastic change in the weather,i was sleeping with the a/c off and windows open. Now the temp was 108* yesterday without the heat index and you add the high humidity you can't breath the air.We have heat advisory and a record reported ozone activity alert, air quality advisory. It's HOT,HOT,HOT.I have my succulents in some shade and may need to put them in even more shade!!! ![]() wish i was where you are,it's even to hot to go to the beach here ![]() Have a nice day I asked for a flower and he gave me a garden, then grand-kids to work in it with me!!!! |

Come to Florida...it barely hits 90 degrees but holds steady for about 6 months! ![]() |

It was 91 degree officially today but felt much higher. I had to care for my plants and the heat and humidity was really too much. Really difficult to take care of plants these days. This will go on for a while now until we get some rain. I am going to do my rain dance now.... |
|

Alka, your rain dance worked we got a bad thunder storm sunday afternoon. But the heat came right back,it's suppose to be slowly cooling off. at 10:30 we are at 95* already. Our temp's are just unreal and hopefully won't last long enough to cause any real damage. The big dog wood tree's in my back yard were wilting!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() I asked for a flower and he gave me a garden, then grand-kids to work in it with me!!!! |

Ooops. ...This time, I will just slow dance......promise ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, hoyas survive quite well in the Philippines, where lately temperatures are extremely hot and humid..not the temperature I remember when I was living there before. I think the thing that relieves the heat over there for most of the local plants is our frequent moonsoon rains, sudden downpours that makes you afraid for flash floods, then humidity rises even more ![]() I remember seeing online, during their summertime this year, daily temps hovering in the 95F, with humidity it feels more like 119F..incredible sticky heat. But the kind of heat hoyas and other tropicals truly love! ![]() |

It's been hitting the hundreds in Central Virgina. I have all my hoyas on a covered porch back against my house and they are doing very well. Have been seeing lots of growth. |
