Apparently it is an acronym for "Thai Ornamental Plants"

???

They have lowered their shipping from$40 o $15 ( or so appears??...which include Phyto) Confused They state their only way of shipping is EMS. However, Thai Post is on the description....Apparently someone is buying from them....they have great reviews...but its kinda sketch since the reviews don't go far back...Maybe a new company? Boy they have a a lot of beauties tho'....it is so tempting....and all their plants are rooted cuttings....a huge website if it isn't legit...but what do I know.... Big Grin

Hi Laura,

I never heard about this store, but they have nice plants.

The only strange thing is the shipping price, from $40 to $15 I think it is not EMS, probably registered.

Hi Laura,

I have been exchanging emails with another UK hoya grower who HAS ordered from Top Plants.

These are her comments, just so you know!:-
Since the earlier email, the subcalva cuttings arrived from 'Top Plants'
Thailand this afternoon. These were 'above radar', complete with a prominent
phytosanitary certificate on the outside of the box but, perhaps being a
very small order, customs haven't intervened to open or check it. As you
point out the added certificate makes the order that bit more expensive. £18
for the two cuttings + £10 postage.
Having said that, they were superb, well rooted, leafy specimens - one just
over 2foot long and the other one 3foot long - a ready made mature subcalva
plant! From what you say of its requirements it will be very much at home
under the grow lights in the humid hot orchid room.
You might consider checking out 'Top Plants' and replacing your demised
subcalva if they still have this available to buy.

Sorry - forgot to add that this was a very recent transaction - maybe in the last 3-4 weeks.

Hi Laura, no I hadn't got you confused - the subcalva was just the plant that had been ordered thats all! It was more the fact that my friend had been very pleased with both the service and quality of the plants she had received from Top Plants.. Smiling

Hi Hoya gang, I believe that Top Plants is also Plumerin http://plumerin.ecrater.com/c/1533386/hoya-variegated
Same photos, same inventory.

I have ordered from Plumerin via eBay. They sell cuttings as Iyares and rooted plants as Plumerin (two differet eBay ID's)

I've received very nice cuttings and rooted plants from them and they promptly replaced dead plants for free but I had to pay the add'l shipping. My plants were sent in an envelope via regular mail (if I recall correctly)

I could be off here on the vendor but I think they are one in the same.
Perception is Unique!

@ Plumania...LOL Rolling on the floor laughing

@ Lali .... yes the two Thai vendors they do look very similar, don't they? I think however, they are different since for example, one carries h. sp. Kalimantan (Toplants.com) and the other (Plumerin) does not....also...the prices of Hoya Lambii are different on each. I think the "ecrater" store platform creates the similarity....or these stores are own by rivaling families?!?! ha-ha...on the "about" link, the descriptions of the business *is* same ( administrative office in Bangkok, with the nursery on each being 10 acres..one is 70km away (on Plumerin), and 100km away on Toplants.com ....Curious., isn't it? Maybe they are franchises, with central Bangkok headquarters. Blah blah...I am ( in)famously known in my family for being an obsessive internet researcher...to the point of boring people like crazy. Big Grin

Anyway...great to know have not heard Any negatives about either of these vendors so far.... Smiling

It's all about choices.
Do you think it could be ONE vendor who brokers for two separate nurseries? I know that one Thai seller IS a broker (Apodagis) and doesn't have his own nursery. With the population being so dense in Asia...you think all those HUGE nursersies really exist?

Just sayin'......

I have ordered from ecrater (topplants) . there was a mix up when they shipped the plants (forgot to put in the phyto) and USDA confiscated the plants. When I emailed them they replaced the order with no problem. They explained they were just starting up and the paperwork was forgotten. I paid for EMS the first time $35 and they didn't charge me for the 2nd shipment or shipping. The plants that I received from them were very healthy and larger than expected.

I have also ordered from plumerin and I don't believe they are the same. I do know that ecrater send me an email asking about my purchasing experience with them and if there were any problems.

I order from Thailand several times a year and have done so for several years with no problems. Just my .02 worth.

There is one on ebay I have ordered from and won't again but just my opinion.

Just ordered 5 minutes ago at topplants, now I´ll see how all comes out...

Hoya benguetensis
Hoya camphorifolia
Hoya collina
Hoya praetorii
Hoya excavata

When I look at the e-bay prices here in Germany for a praetorii, I made a really good deal now... Big Grin
There is one on e-bay for 38€ and has still 5 days to go, I bet with s&h it´ll cost more than 50€, I´ve spend for all the plants above 61€ including shipping and certificates..... Rolling on the floor laughing
