I'm so jealous! My camera gets blurry and auto focuses on the background when I try to take flower close ups. I end up using tricks to get it in focus, but still it isn't nearly as close as everyone's beautiful Hoya bloom photos!

What kind of camera does everyone use? How much would I have to shell out in order to get one?? Ears perked up!

I'd also be curious to hear, how did everyone get into photography? Was it purely your Hoya blooms?
Or maybe it was nature? Being a plant loving person, you must be nature loving people too? Hilarious!

Keiko,

I am by NO means a professional photographer. I have 2 cameras one old and one very new. The older one a Kodak Easy share Z700 is the one that I have used to take all of the pictures that i've posted on this site thus far. On the dial there's a setting used to take pictures closer than 26 inches to an object and that's what I use to take most of my pics with. I purchased this camera brand new several years ago and it hung on a door knob for pretty close to a year and a half or longer before I got the nerve to try it out (without reading the manual or having any knowledge whatsoever on how to take a picture) Before that I was using my cell phone camera to take pics and they were blurry at best!!! I tried taking a few pics with this Z700 and was not impressed at all as to how they came out but as I said at that point I had not read the book on how to use the camera and photography to me was like rocket science. Once i read the manual and figured out what I was and wasn't doing then the pictures started getting better and better. I still have moments when I can't get it just right but I just keep trying until I get the picture that I like!!!

My new camera which I just got for Christmas 2011 is a new and improved version of the Kodak Easy Share. It's called kodak Easy Share touch m5370. It has a 5 inch touch screen display and I have taken pics with it but am still trying to get it all figured out. It's a little more technologically advanced than the other camera and i'm a self admitted computer retard,in other words i'm not very tech savvy!!! When I get the new camera all figured out ( it can't really be that hard) i'll start sharing some hoya photos taken with it.

To answer your question about how I got interested in taking pictures, yes it was purely my hoya flowers.

It's all about choices.
I must say, David, your pictures are nice.
