Name: Carol Noel Hawaii (near Hilo) It's all about choices.
It does get sun in the a.m. - filtered very bright light the rest of the day and TONS of water. Hoyas growing outside on trees can take much more water/rain than those in pots....
Truly an amazing plant! My curtisii looks better than it has looked in at least a year, but it is always one mistake away from going in the dumper, and I don't think I will live long enough to ever see a bloom on it!
The one I have mounted on a "Raft" (like a wooded Orchid basket except flat) is doing the best it's done ever also.
I've moved it up higher in the greenhouse for now, and will keep it up there till warm enough to move outside again, but it's going to go where it can get a little more light !
I have never been able to keep that one alive either. I think it is like Spanish moss, in that it requires mostly living on moisture in the air, and since I live where the air is dry as dust... No luck with the humidity lovers. Maybe if I someday have a greenhouse.
