Nancy, what a show. Your hoyas are gorgeous. All have really beautiful leaves and flowers.
And that sigillatis, lovely buds.....making me daydream .....
Carol, fragrance....as I explained to my God-mother: "a walk on a county side full of wild flowers after the rain"...to me it's like a mix of fresh earthy scent mixed with a little sweetness (like wild flowers)...
Nancy...beautiful blooms! Very nice!!
Julie...I agree, I love the color and the scent. But it's so hard to describe...My Godmother totally agreed with me on the scent of Minibelle because her mom used to grow Hoyas many-many years ago...and she remembers as growing up.
Cindy, lacunosa must be smelling good. Many different varieties....I wonder if there is any significant difference in fragrance.Mine has not bloomed yet.
Is that retusa in your second picture?
Carol and Alka yes that is retusa and if you put your nose up close it smells good,a bit lemony.
I don't think there is a big difference between the lacunosa's but some are stronger.
Very plushy look, beautiful colors on kenejiana...
I was thinking of getting it because I do not have any yellow flower hoya ,but I was not sure if it is a nice yellow in natural light. All pics either looked too washed out or too yellow. Yours seems to be in your grow house and pretty close to natural light, I like the color.
I have crassicaulis in 6 inch pot hanging from a mango tree. Gets almost half day morning sun. Mine blooms as long as heat is not too strong.....finally blooming though. I had tough time with it before I figured out what is going on.
Name: Carol Noel Hawaii (near Hilo) It's all about choices.
A few more blooms: this first one is a seedling from a cross of H. rigida X H. acuta (albomarginate). A friend of mine has been making lots of crosses and I am growing them out for him...
