Here are the photos of roots....rooted in GrowStones within less than 2 weeks: (H. Amoena)
I am pretty happy....had no problems rooting it. Easy and fast!
With this setup, I add water about every 3 to 5 days, depending on if it is windy or around 100 degrees.
I cut a 2-liter soda bottle so that the top half is a bit shorter than the bottom, fill it with growstone and plant/cutting, placed upside down inside the bottom half of the bottle that is filled with water.
I have learned that if the top half of the bottle is tallest, the stones where the plant sits get too dry in my weather.
But it was free shipping wasn't it???
Also, Does anyone know why there is only the 2 holes in the containers they sell for the S/H on the web? How many holes do you all use?
I am making some of my own, and am unsure if I should put more than the 2 holes an inch up from the bottom.

Yes...but so many businesses think that Hawaii is NOT in the USA...or it is WAY off too far away to be included in Shipping. I was refused an order because the seller did not accept International Orders. OH...don't get me started!!!! I will order it, have it sent to someone and I will arrange for it to be picked up by FedEx, put on my special rate....and I can get it here at a good rate...but...it takes time... Ah...the cost of Paradise!
We also pay 4.50gal for regular gas and 6$ for a half gallon of Organic Milk.
When I just planted the cuttings, I didn't know what to expect, it was my first experience with GrowStones, so I watered it every day....but when I noticed the roots, started watering like every 2-3-4 days. The plans love GrowStones...love them!!!

Y'know...I just had a thought.... for folks with a dry environment (central heating is often really drying)...putting the pots on or barely into a bigger pot/bowl/tray of growstones would be ideal or creating a bit of humidity around your plants. The Growstone retain the moisture so the humidity would evaporate over a longer period of time than, say, just pebbles....

Marcy,
The reason for two holes is just in case one gets clogged with the stones or pellets you use. So if you make two hole about 1 inch apart you will never have a problem with your water reservoir getting to full. personally I think holes 1 inch from the bottom is to low, It does not hold enough water ( but that's just me ) I put my holes about 2 to 2 1/2 from the bottom and place my cuttings just above the water line.
I have a few things started now in the new stones. I did set them on stones and in a tote, but did not cover it or bag them. Hope it will be humid enough.
