It's all about choices.
YES....great presentation!!!

Just like children, plants have their own personalities within the genus (= family) and none of them look exactly alike. With a hoya like H. carnosa, H. pubicalyx and many of the acutas, pottsiis etc., they have been around for SO long (and seedlings grown out by curious collectors and passed on to others with cute names which only muddies up the pot) that it is wiser (IMHO) to simply know them by H. carnosa and H. pubicalyx rather than "Ruby Sue" or "Whatever". H. lacunosa has many many different leaf forms and some with larger or smaller flowers...but they are all H. lacunosa....and with H. lacunosa we aren't dealing with cultivars (yet).

I have given up trying to 'separate' out different forms/cultivars of species unless they are TOTALLY different and those differences are stable within that form. I would reckon on any of those 3 H. carnosa plants you could find enough variables within the leaves of that same plant that it would be REALLY confusing!!! Your plants look really well grown!!! The clone from Taiwan (probably a seedling from a grower there) looks a wee bit different from the rest but they are all H. carnosa when you get down to it, right?

Big Grin
Leap. The net will appear.
