My method of rooting linearis is to plant the cuttings in a pot with my usual potting mix, water it and then water it again in a week, and repeat weekly. I prepare each cutting by having one node under the top level of the mix with the leaves removed and at least a half inch of stem below that. I keep the pot out of direct sun, but in a bright spot. I've been afraid of babying the cuttings or over-watering as,for me, the plant likes to grow dry but likes the odd misting.

Voila, in a few weeks it starts to grow, and very strong.
