I got a plant originally about 6 years ago from a garden centre in the UK.......it was in one of those very wet, compact mediums that nurseries seem to have such great success with, but we dont. Packed it in my James Bond Anniversary Tin Box, and it came out here with me in my suuitcase I took a lot of cuttings. The compost did dry out quite quickly in this heat, and it was difficult to re wet, and the plant died..the cuttings however, seemed to be very successful......for a year. Plants would grow, then die from the base...restart them.I have several plants with plenty of rooted cuttings in each...........and each year they would grow, flower, then die at the base again. ach year there would be a few less pots of it.....I tried it in everything.....heavy mediums, light mediums...same story each year . I have just lost my last bit.and I've just decided not to bother agin. If I see another healthy plant in the UK, possibly I will bring it over, leave it in whatever it's growing in, and take more care to keep it damp....but I wont bother ordering a cutting |
