Now that is a biggie!!! I have never had those problems...OH, once ....I did. And I think I determined that the plant was not 'ready' to support blooms....could have been it was starting to rot?.... Finlaysonii is one of those (like all the ones with dark veining in the leaves) that like to NEVER dry out...but they root rot easily...so I grow them almost semi hydroponically. Once I did that (semi hydroponically) I never had problems. Plants will bloom as a survival tactic...they are struggling (about something) so they bloom in order to reproduce.... When I get back from a trip I am about to leave on (in a few hours) I will talk to the plant pathologist at the university about it. Everything a plant does - bloom, root, grow etc., is determined by hormones in the plant system...which has to do with carbohydrates etc. Are you giving a good balanced fertilizer (like the MSU?). More on this later...but it's a great question!!!!! ![]() Leap. The net will appear. |
