I find it interesting that even Doug is having bud blast as well.He was only getting two flowers from each peduncle.Maybe the buds need a ceretain amount of oxygen in the soil to fully develop??I had my Hoya lobbii bloom for the first time this year.There were about 10 buds roughly 2mm in diameater.After I watered it...I was only left with three that bloomed.When a new peduncle formed,I dedided not to water it until the buds got about 5mm in diameter,the watered it just enough to soak about two thirds of the soil...no water ran out the bottom.The buds didnt blast!!Did the extra oxygen in the soil help the buds fully develop??who knows!lol Ill be testing this theory on future buds!  |
