It's all about choices.
Deidra...I would consider those roots viable. Just make sure that the cutting is firm in the media and doesn't wobble around which will disturb the small roots. I would also add a bit of fertilizer to the media you put it in or water it in with a mild fertilizer. Don't remove the hydroton balls and make sure you don't wiggle the cutting around a lot so the balls don't rip off the leaves....

Totally agree with Marcy. Pachyclada (subquintuplinervis is another one) are quite succulent (notice thick leaves) and likes a really lose media with air around the roots and dampness not sogginess. Big Grin
