I was pleasantly surprised when I purchased my first Trailing African Violet called Rob's Sticky Wicket. It is just a beautiful plant and it blooms forever. Another pink, but just a real beauty. There is something about the trailing violets that I just love. They are so dainty.

Rob's Sticky Wicket in all her beauty.

I just love these trailing african violets. Mine (only have one that is blooming) is just so adorable and is growing like a little weed. I want to get more when the weather breaks and we can start to ship again. Of course the way they ship them I guess they would make it o.k. now if they were shipping.

Does anyone know if you propagate the trailing AV the same as you do the standards? Oh please, if you do, let me know.

I do not know about propigation. I am trying to start a trailing AV from seed. So far....no grow :/ lol
but I think they have at least a 30 day germination. I will let you know if im lucky .
Did you try to Google about propigation? I find a lot of information on the web by just googling my question..

Yes Lori, I have done the google on this and have found some good information. I also like to hear what method others are using to see if I have other options. Thanks for the suggestion. I am always open for more information. Have a nice day.

I just wanted to let you know that I think I may have a seed or two that are growing !!!! I can see a little geen poking through the soil :) plus I planted a few more of the seeds last night, so I will see how those do.
Thses trailers are called " African Violet Trailer".
I will let you know how my propigation by seed goes :)

Where did you get your AV seeds? That is exciting. What did you plant them in?

It was a xmas gift from my parents, however, they got them from Park Seed Co. (www.parkseed.com, 1-800-845-3369)
I used a ceramic self watering dish, promix with perlite, covered with seran wrap, and placed under a grow light for 12-16 hrs a day . Im not saying I did it correctly ..... hehe
The packet said cover the seed, but Park Seeds internet site said NOT to cover the seeds for germination !!! So go figure :/ They are small even for my eyes ! I almost missed the little green in the soil today ! I tried to enlarge for everyone the best I could , but my hand tremors didnt give clear pictures :(

Good job. Thanks. I will think about it. I know I can not do it but I can always try. If it doesn't work I think I will stick to the leaf method.
